Understanding School Violence and Building Students’ Resilience

We grieve with those who lost loved ones at our most recent scene of deadly school violence, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Southern Florida.

As an educator, you may be looking for resources to help your and students understand attacks such as this or to build students’ resilience, whether in the aftermath of such violence that reverberates in all of our schools or for the countless difficulties they are bound to face in their lives.

PBS LearningMedia has pages of PreK-12 resources on subjects like resilience and safe schools, some of which we hope support you in the most important and difficult work anyone can do — teach.
