Celebrate Love for Learning at Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame

As Valentines Day approaches, WGBY prepares to celebrate Love for Learning — a PBS Kids Fan Fair — on February 20th from 10am to 4pm at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.  Fun learning for families will fill the day, which includes PBS KIDS characters Elmo and Curious George, Eric Carle’s Very Hungry Caterpillar, Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat, children’s authors and illustrators, a special screening, and much more. Because this WGBY event celebrates PBS KIDS programs and characters, attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite PBS Kids characters (optional) and participate in a costume contest.

Children will also enjoy PBS-themed program stations, at which they can enjoy creative activities, and view an episode of the new PBS KIDS program Ready, Jet, Go Families can also meet award-winning local children’s book authors and illustrators, and participate in creative activities.

Event attendees will also gain access to specially reduced Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame admission pricing.

You can learn more at WGBY’s Love for Learning webpage.  If you’d like to volunteer to help at the event, please contact Charlie Rose, Development Associate, at CRose@wgby.org.
